What's New with You?

Hello Friends,

Its been a while so lets just put the last year behind us and continue on with whats happening now!

We have a busy spring/summer coming up full of new homes. 
A couple of weeks ago we started a project just past Waupoos on County Road 8, we built a similar "model" of this house last Fall and co-incidentally these new clients came to us with the same inspiration pictures/ideas!  We were able to take them for a walk through and they were sold...with a few changes to make it all their own.

Here is the site as it appeared last week:

As you can see it's a slab on grade construction, the footings are poured and this week it is being framed up!

Here is a photo of the home we completed in the fall...I'm excited to see how this house will turn out compared to last Fall's project!

We are also in the end stage of another new build that we began in Fall 2017.  Here is some progress from that site:

We are eager to get this one completed in the next few weeks so we can start a few more!

Renovations Galore!

Typically we don't do renovations, we like to stick to what we are good at; new custom homes, but somehow we couldn't say no to these two large scale renos!

The Beacon (vacation rental property) is located above the Duke of Wellington restaurant in Wellington.  It was a largely unused and unfinished space when we got ahold of it, we had free rein to do whatever we wanted (right down to the fixtures and furniture!) Gotta love that!

The second Renovation is a huge undertaking (and a logistical nightmare), which of course is why we said yes...we love a challange!

It's the renovation of the Summer Camp on Waupoos Island!  This project is going to take a few seasons to complete, but we will try and give you a few updates along the way.

Welbanks Semi Update

We are ecstatic,  and also sorry,  to inform you that all of our semi-detached homes in the Welbanks subdivision are now sold.  We are currently finishing the last unit for a great local couple and their daughter.  I think they are really going to enjoy the Welbanks community.

Here are a couple pictures of Lot 61 and 63, the last 2 units we completed (because I have really been slacking with finish pictures...sorry about that!)

Hello Strangers!

It has been far too long since our last post (thanks to John for pointing that out)!  We will try to be less tardy in the future!

We've got lots to show you since our last post...hopefully we will have photos updated on the website soon...but, for us, our current clients come first ... social media is a close second though.  Check out Instagram (@kleurdesign and @hickoryhomes) for snippets of current work.

The Modern Barn (or "that big red barn house" to locals!):
 It is the talk of Wellington, people love it or hate it...I love it, those red architectural panels are fantastic (and so is the lovely lady who lives there).
Here are some pictures of the custom interior details in the space.... this was a FUN house to design, source and build.  I just love it when clients are up for anything! We hope Karin enjoys living in it as much as we enjoyed building it.

Morgan Road:

We started a new home on Morgan road in June. This isn't one of our typical design/build projects, but we are enjoying it none the less!  These clients came to us with plans and finishes and we are just bringing their plans to life. At this point we are taking it to the interior finishes stage and the homeowners are finishing themselves.

Fall Updates

Its been great working weather here in Prince Edward County and our crews are getting lots done.
We are moving quite along with several projects!

Wellington:
If you have driven through Wellington the last few weeks you will see lots of action on the east end! The new Gas station/Tim Hortons is getting really close to completion and right across the road is our "Modern Barn" house, all framed up and ready to start looking like a Barn!
We are a little jealous of the view from the top deck!

 

 

 

Welbanks Meadows:

 

The unit we started in July is in the finishing stages and should be complete in the next couple weeks.  The push was on for this unit and our guys really came through with finishing! We are lucky to have a great crew who can come through in a pinch.

We also started the 2 units across the road (both are already sold!).  We have been working with these clients on interior finishes. Luckily, we are well on our way and should have no delays with these homes! These are our final 2 semi-detached units in the subdivision.

 

 

Morrison Point:

Our job in Morrison Point is also moving along nicely, we are all drywalled and ready for finishing.  The clients have opted to paint themselves, so we have stepped out for a week to allow them to complete that!

 

 

Our House:

We are moving in really shortly! Here are a few teasers....please excuse the excessive use of herringbone...I may have gone a touch overboard!
